Profile

Jeffrey Pontiff is a professor in the Seidner Department of Finance at the ÌÇÐÄVlog Carroll School of Management. He has teaching and research interests in the area of corporate finance andÌýassetÌýpricing and his research has been published in journals such as theÌý´³ournal of Finance,Ìý´³ournal of Financial Economics,ÌýAmerican Economic Review,ÌýQuarterly Journal of Economics,ÌýReview of Financial Studies, and theÌýRand Journal. His papers have won numerousÌýawards including the Jensen Prize (first place), Amundi Smith Breeden Prize (first place), and the Sharpe Award (first place). He has held research or teaching positions at University of Washington, UCLA, Emory, Harvard Business School, National University of Singapore, ESCP-Europe, EPFL, Northeastern, the Institute for Financial Research (Stockholm) and Yale SOM.

He is a Vice President at the Financial Management Association International,Ìýan associate editor at theÌýJournal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis,ÌýFinancial Management,Ìýand theÌýJournal of Wine Economics.ÌýIn the past, he has served asÌýthe executive editor at theÌýReview of Asset Pricing Studies, and an associate editorÌýat theÌýReview of Financial StudiesÌýandÌýManagement Science. He is a co-founder and past president of the Financial Research Association, and a past director for the Western Finance Association.
